Hindi School of Geneva

Hindi School of Geneva

Learning Hindi. Living the language. Connecting with Indian heritage.

Hindi School of Geneva (HSG) is a non-profit Hindi language and cultural school for children and adults, based in Geneva. Since 2018, we’ve helped families build a lasting connection to the Hindi language and the culture behind it — not through occasional lessons, but through a structured, year-on-year learning path.

At Hindi School of Geneva, Hindi isn’t just taught — it’s lived. We learn, laugh, sing and celebrate festivities together, keeping Indian heritage alive while growing up in Switzerland.

About us

Our mission

HSG is a non-profit association based in Geneva. Our purpose is to promote the Hindi language and Indian cultural heritage through educational, cultural and community activities, for children and adults.

Our approach

Hindi language learning is at the heart of HSG. Cultural activities such as stories, music and art support it, and we use culture as a vehicle for learning Hindi.

Our story

HSG has been teaching Hindi in Geneva since 2018. What started as informal classes has grown into a structured school with its own curriculum, a recognised progression from beginner to advanced level, and an affiliation with the UK Hindi Samiti that gives our students access to external exams and competitions.

Child safeguarding and policies

We have policies in place for child safeguarding, photography consent and data protection. Please get in touch for more information.

Our courses

A real learning pathway, not stand-alone lessons

Students progress through a structured curriculum: JL (Junior Level) Beginners → L1 → L2 → L3 → L4. Each level builds on the last, developing reading, writing, speaking and comprehension together — designed specifically for children growing up in multilingual, international families.

Every child learns differently. We go at each student’s pace, so they feel comfortable and confident, and help them move forward gradually. Placement is discussed with each family at enrolment.

Activities & culture

Cultural activities at HSG complement Hindi learning — they give students a reason to use the language, not a break from it.

Alongside our Hindi classes, HSG offers a range of cultural and creative activities that bring the language to life. These vary from year to year and may include storytelling, music, art and festival-related workshops.
